Gadgets take much of the bore out of traveling. Sitting for hours on a long plane flight isn’t as mind-numbing when you bring some technology. Gadgets are good for children and adults. Having a few gadgets while traveling keeps the mind engaged, and the boring part of the trip doesn’t seem so long.
iPod
The iPod is a device used for audio and video. More expensive iPods play short movies, but the gadget is mostly used as a music player. Depending on the model, the iPod holds hundreds of MP3 files for hours of playtime. When packing an iPod for travel, ensure you’ve not forgotten the power cable. On long trips, the iPod will only last approximately a day. USB cable and power adapters are included with the device to recharge the battery. If you bring a laptop, it’s a perfect source for an iPod battery recharge. (more…)

We told you there’d be a new, slimmer PlayStation 3. Now, the slimmed down, pumped up revamp is finally here and it doesn’t disappoint. First and foremost, the PS3 Slim is cheaper: the launch price will be below 20k. It’s also a third smaller and lighter than the hulking previous version, and a third more energy-efficient, meaning slightly lower running costs and, more importantly, near-silent operation as minimal fan work is required to keep it cool. The Slim has gained a 120GB hard drive and exchanged the fingerprint-magnet gloss finish for a matt one. The gauche, ugly Spiderman font is gone too, replaced by a new, embossed PS3 logo on both top and bottom. (more…)

If you are a fan of Pokemon then you’ve probably already heard that Nintendo is remaking Pokemon Gold and Silver with the new names Heart Gold and Soul Silver. But what Nintendo didn’t announce until last Sunday was the fact they are enhancing the game with the addition of a walking meter.
The little device is being called the PokeWalker and will come bundled with both versions of the game. It is meant to be carried with you wherever you go and interfaces with your DS and Pokemon game via infrared. What you can do is upload one of your Pokemon to the device and take it with you. By walking around that Pokemon then gains experience and affection for their owner. (more…)
